I don’t have much to say about today although I did learn a lot. Firstly I made some space diagrams, I started by drawing bubbles each to represent a different part of the exhibition such as the gift shop, cafe or workshop. I connected the spaces that would be together and then put these bubbles on a print out of the existing floor plan, investigating and mapping out how they will fit into the existing space. Once I had a design I went onto Photoshop where I edited out the parts of the existing floor plan that I didn’t want anymore and then transported the PDF to AutoCAD, scaled it and began tracing the new floor plan over it. I had never used before used AutoCad so it was scary at first but very quickly I became accustomed to it.
Planning Space.
Planning out space in the existing building.
It was extremely rewarding to finally begin having a clean floor plan for the exhibition which I want it to be an eclectic, beautiful and dreamy space, inviting visitors into a unique narrative through Reed's work, personal life and wondrous mind. Next week we have a formative assessment so I will begin constructing a presentation to showcase all the work the group has achieved.
